COME SPEND A DAY WITH THE DUTCH
Because safety is our priority, we are requiring masks for all staff, volunteers, and visitors. If you are unable to wear a mask, please come back and visit when it is safer to do so. Thank you!
Want to stay up-to-date on all things Pella and Tulip Time?
You're invited to spend a day with the Dutch when you visit the Pella Historical Society and Museums. From displays of Pella's earliest years to unique gifts in our museum shop, you'll truly experience a touch of Holland on the prairie.
The story of 800 immigrants who founded a town on the prairie, the beauty of the costumes from their native Netherlands, the boyhood home of Wyatt Earp, thousands of tulips in an explosion of color, the tallest working windmill in the United States... You'll find it all here!
We promise that your day will be erg uitstekend!
What's New at Pella Historical?
The tulips are nearly done for the year, and we want to share their beauty with you! Members can come to the Historical Village on Tuesday, May 18, between 5pm and 7pm to dig up bulbs for a free will donation. Please enter through the North Gate, and bring your membership card and your own digging and transporting items (shovels, trowels, bags, boxes, etc. will not be provided). There's still time to become a member if you'd like to get this early access!
If there is anything left, we will open it up to the general public beginning Wednesday, May 19, until they are gone - also for a free will donation. We are open from 10am-5pm Monday through Friday and 10am-4pm on Saturdays. Again, digging and transporting materials will NOT be provided. Please enter through the South Gate behind the mill near our alley parking lot.
Questions? Email email@example.com or call 641-628-1541. If you'd like to take a look at what bulbs will be available, click here.
Note: This is for the Historical Village only. Please do not dig in Scholte Gardens - these will be available already dug up at a later date. For information on digging around town, keep on eye on Pella Community Services' Facebook page.
